The sheer thickness caught me off guard in the best way, and that minimal taper means you feel every inch right from the first push. If you want something that doesn't ease you in gently, this is it. Easily the boldest piece in my collection now.

The texture is impressively detailed, and the lack of tapering really does mean you get the full width right away. It's a bit of a commitment to warm up for, so it's not an everyday pick for me, but the quality is worth it.

The lack of tapering means there's no warm-up—it's full width from the very first inch, which took some adjusting. That said, once you're past the initial stretch, the shaft holds steady and the ride is surprisingly smooth.
